A taste of honey Overview A taste of honey is British TV drama that brings into account class, race, gender and sexuality as there is characters that are all very different. It is set in Salford Manchester in north west England. Characters Jo- Jo is main character in a taste of honey. Jo is a 16 year old girl who is an illegitimate child because her parents weren’t married when she was born. As a child Jo is very independent this is because that her mother isn’t very reliable so Jo has to look after herself in many ways. In the relationship that Jo has with her mother we see Jo betrayed as the adult in the relationship. Because of how childish the Jo’s mother is she can never afford to live in one place for a long stretch of time so as a result Jo never really has settled home for any long period of time.
