AS Media Evaluation

AS Media Studies evaluation
In the following paragraphs I will be looking at mine, Jack, Ellis and Raffy’s final AS Media production and evaluating it and looking at ways in which I believe we can progress but also things I believe we did well at that the viewers liked about the opining clip of For Family.
The first thing that came up when we asked the viewers about For Family is that they liked the location switch and the fact that we went from Oxford to Woodstock but we managed to make it look like they were right next to each other and there wasn’t a clear switch of location because both the places looked similar. This took a lot of time to get perfect because we needed to make sure that the weather was the same because we filmed the clips on different days.
The second area that a lot of people picked up and liked was the point of view camera shot right at the end of the opening sequence. The shot is from my point of view as I have to gun pointed at me. This clip didn’t actually go to plan because we had to take a clip out because I messed up the way I fell onto the floor and because I got muddy we couldn’t re film it so we had to use some great editing skills to make it look like I was knocked out for a few seconds and that why it cuts to a black screen to represent that I blacked out. I think the reason the viewers liked this camera shot was because it made them see what it was like to be my character in that position and it made them interested to see what would happen later on in the film.
In general in AS media I feel like I could’ve done better and apart from my final production the type of areas that I feel I could improve on were my theory side of the subject and also the amount of blogs I did and also the quality of blogs. The exam side of the subject I believe let me down last year because I could see what the producer was doing when filming the shows/films but I then struggled to put it into words
