For our final A2 production as I’m sure you know we decided to
film a mockumentary about the life of a football hooligan. The reason that we
decided this is because we both massive football fans we thought it would be a
great way to bring our two main passions of football and film making into one. We
did however have to put a lot of research into the production for example first
we looked on YouTube and online about other production that were similar to
ours to make sure that we didn’t completely copy them. Then we had to decide
what shots we needed and where we were going to film these shots. In the end we
decide that we would film part of our production in different houses and also
at a number of different football grounds. After we had completed this we need
to gather permission form people to film there as well finding suitable times
to film.

Mods and rockers What are mods? Mod is a type of people that really came to the fore front of culture is the 1950’s. They were the first set of teenagers after the Second World War and were therefore the first generation with a disposable income and could afford to go out and drink and do drugs. Mods had a very iconic fashion sense that consisted of tailored suits usually based on Italian style, short slick haircuts, and they drive around on scooters like vespers and lambretta. They get a lot of their ideas from Europe. Traditionally mods were working class people living on housing estates and working in factories or coal mines. What are rockers? Rockers like mods were a subculture that got massive in the 1950’s but they were very different to mods in nearly every single way. Rockers wore biker boots, leather jackets, and jeans and traditionally rode proper motorbikes. Rockers were also working class but spent their money on different things. There was also a rivalry bet...
Giroux Theory (1997) Representation of youth Giroux views show how the youth are mistreated within media. Describing them as an empty category explains that adults don’t understand what it is like to be a youth in this generation. Therefore they just but their own ideas into this empty space of what they believe their representation is. The effects Media involving just adults therefore greatly effects these representations. The adults do not want their generation to look bad therefore uses teenagers as a scapegoat. The role of media representations in society By looking at this theory we are able to see that the representation of youth is moulded together through what adults believe and think. This then leads to uprising of stereotypes through the media and also cause moral panics. When all of this has just been created through hegemony and the media raining down their ideas.
I have recently completed the first ancillary text. The first ancillary text that i did was a poster for our film The Life Of A Football Hooligan. I will link the poster below. i decided that i will make the poster look like the front cover of an Oxford United match day magazine. The reason that i did this is because i felt like it would add something more to the production instead of just a generic film poster. Oxford United match day magazine My film poster
