Overview
A taste of honey is British TV drama that brings into account class, race, gender and sexuality as there is characters that are all very different. It is set in Salford Manchester in north west England.  
Characters
Jo- Jo is main character in a taste of honey. Jo is a 16 year old girl who is an illegitimate child because her parents weren’t married when she was born.  As a child Jo is very independent this is because that her mother isn’t very reliable so Jo has to look after herself in many ways. In the relationship that Jo has with her mother we see Jo betrayed as the adult in the relationship. Because of how childish the Jo’s mother is she can never afford to live in one place for a long stretch of time so as a result Jo never really has settled home for any long period of time.
Helen- Helen is Jo’s mother. She is unmarried and to have child and be unmarried at that time was frowned upon. Ellen during the film is seen with a black boyfriend called jimmy. As a mum she is very selfish and puts herself ahead of her daughter.

Jeffrey- Jeffrey is Jo’s gay friend and also much like Jo is without roots because his parents have never settled anywhere. In the film Jeffrey actually proposes to Jo because he feels like even though he is gay if he proposes then people will see him as having “a normal life”.

overshadowed

Overshadowed Overshadowed is a TV program aired by BBC three on the BBC I player and it follows the life of Imogene who is a vlogger. It is an innovative drama. It is based on the award winning play about Imogene the vlogger whose life spirals out of control. The innovative drama has lots of youth culture issues in it including, parental issues, relationship issues and the main issue being anorexia. In the series you meet a lot of Imogene’s friend. There are a few main characters that we see in Overshadowed. The main character is obviously Imogene but then there is the person that’s always with her who is the voice in her head/ the anorexia and its stops her from eating. In the first two episodes the audience really starts to grasp an idea of the main issues being betrayed in overshadowed.
